The first two paintings are part of a multi-layered artwork exploring the taboo subject of elder suicide. Having been asked by a 90 year old neighbour to help ‘put him down’, I created a collage of whisky and pills obscured by a pattern representing my neighbour’s old couch. This was overlaid by the layer of fragile found paper with a portrait painted in gold and left-over house paint.
